How Sachi Academy checks its facts

Sachi Academy is a free guide to the checks before you buy a new home in Bangalore. The Sachi Academy team at Sachi, a home-buying advisor in Bangalore, writes every guide. This page explains where the facts come from and how we keep them current.

Which sources do the guides use?

Every legal, tax and price fact in a guide comes from a primary source. Primary sources are the text of an Act or its Rules, a government notification, an official portal such as Karnataka RERA, IGR Karnataka and Kaveri 2.0, and the directions of the Reserve Bank of India. A guide names the section or paragraph it relies on, and links to the official text in its Sources list. If a fact comes only from a news report, the sentence says so. If we could not open a source, the guide does not state the fact.

What does "Last checked" mean?

"Last checked" is the date on which someone opened the sources of a guide and compared each number with them. Each source in the Sources list also shows its own checked date. "Published" is the date the guide first went live. We re-check every guide at least every 90 days. We re-check a legal or tax guide sooner when the rule it describes changes.

Who reviews a guide before it goes live?

Before a guide goes live, a second, independent review re-reads each fact against its source. That review is separate from the writing. A guide also shows its expert review status. "Legal review pending" means that no outside lawyer has signed off on the guide yet. Treat the guides as general information, and confirm decisions about your own flat with a lawyer or a tax adviser.

Where does Sachi's own data come from?

Some guides include a number that Sachi computed itself, for example from the project records that builders file with Karnataka RERA. Each such number states the records it comes from and the date of the data. Where Sachi holds no original data for a topic, the guide says so.

How do I report a mistake?

Send the page link and the line you think is wrong to Sachi on WhatsApp. We check the source again and correct the guide. A correction moves the "Last checked" date.
